To our community:

Only by giving of our time, talents and treasures can we truly experience the priceless gifts of love, appreciation and inner peace. When we reach out to others without the expectation of return, we move beyond the creature world that surrounds us and into the atmosphere for which our Higher Power wants us to strive. Philanthropy is our unlimited ability to share with others a gift of opportunity, a helping hand in a time of need, a boost up the rungs of life to where they too will be able to give unto those coming behind.

At the Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County, we are committed to actively growing the charitable resources available to our community.  We help you manage your philanthropic gifts to maximize their impact.  We simplify the process of giving to the causes and organizations you feel most passionately about.  We are a Huntsville/Madison County-based nonprofit organization and we connect donors to areas of significant need and cultivate projects that will lead to a more vibrant community.

Community foundations are not a new concept.  They have been present for over 100 years, helping communities throughout the United States.  Many donors are attracted to the idea of permanence, since they know that a community foundation is designed to provide support for local needs now and in the future, in perpetuity.  We are a dynamic entity that addresses a wide range of donor requirements by offering a highly personal approach to planned giving.  Some donors want to honor a friend or family member with a memorial gift in an area that was of special interest to that person.  We partner with families to teach children the critical importance of philanthropy and volunteerism in building a better community.  Donors have found that a community foundation compares very favorably to a private foundation as they choose to build a permanent fund with their name that supports their community interests.  Community foundations have demonstrated the ability to develop win/win relationships with professional advisors and can work in tandem with your financial advisor to help you reach your philanthropic goals.
