Over the years, Pam Hudson, M.D., CEO of Crestwood Medical Center, has led her organization to be a proud partner with a number of nonprofit organizations that serve women and families in our community, including Alabama Kidney Foundation, the ALS Association – Alabama Chapter, American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Alabama, Kids to Love Foundation, National Children’s Advocacy Center, and WEDC Foundation, just to name a few. Therefore, it was only fitting that Crestwood would continue this legacy by inviting the community to join them in this work, and thus the new Crestwood Women & Families Fund was born. “The Crestwood Women & Families Fund will allow us to continue to partner with local nonprofit organizations to invest in the lives of women and families in our community,” said Dr. Pam Hudson.
The mission of the Crestwood Women & Families Fund, which will be managed by the Community Foundation, is to establish a grant-making fund for high-impact grants to address the issues and meet immediate needs of women and families in our community. Nonprofit organizations in our community who serve women and families will follow a formal process of applying for funds. An Advisory Committee consisting of members of the Crestwood Women’s Advisory Council, Crestwood Medical Center employees, and volunteers will meet regularly to review applications and recommend grants to selected organizations.
