Huntsville Botanical Garden Partners with the Community Foundation to Manage Capital Campaign Funds for New Welcome Center Project

The Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County was recently selected to manage the Huntsville Botanical Garden Legacy Fund.  This new fund will be used to invest a portion of the proceeds of the capital campaign for the new Welcome Center and facilities expansion project that is currently underway.

Botanical GardenPaula Steigerwald, CEO of the Huntsville Botanical Garden, said: “The Garden is pleased to partner with the Community Foundation as we move to a critical time in our growth.   Our Master Plan has been carefully crafted to set a clear path for the development of our 112 acre property. The Guest Welcome Center project is a much-needed element, focusing on the visitor and volunteer experience, while providing needed revenue to sustain the Garden for generations to enjoy.   As a leading tourist attraction, located in the heart of the Huntsville-Madison corridor, the impact will reach far beyond the Garden gates as it improves quality of life for the community and beyond.  We appreciate all the Community Foundation does to foster support for local nonprofits and are proud to be a part”.

“We are proud to be partnering with the Huntsville Botanical Garden on this ambitious capital campaign for their new Welcome Center.  By utilizing the Community Foundation to manage these funds, the Garden’s staff and board will be able to focus their efforts on the fundraising campaign while knowing their donors’ funds are invested for growth and security,” stated Stuart Obermann, President/CEO of the Community Foundation.

Supporters of the Garden who wish to participate in the ongoing capital campaign may donate directly to the HBG Legacy Fund at the Community Foundation.  All donations to the Legacy Fund will be used exclusively by the Garden for their new expansion project.  Make checks payable to Community Foundation of Huntsville/Madison County and note “HBG Legacy Fund” in the memo field.  Donations may be mailed to the Community Foundation at PO Box 332, Huntsville, AL 35804.  Alternatively, donations may be submitted directly to the Garden at 4747 Bob Wallace Ave., Huntsville, AL 35805.
