Summer Adventures in Learning (SAIL) is a collective impact project that works to overcome summer learning loss. It brings funders together with program providers, the three local school districts, The Schools Foundation, and the Community Foundation to work collaboratively to improve student outcomes.
A new cutting-edge sports complex is heading to John Hunt Park, this time in the form of an innovative skatepark that will challenge skaters, from professional to novice. The skatepark will be Olympic quality and include supporting facilities such as restrooms, pavilions, sunshades, lighting, landscaping and expanded parking. It is slated to be built on a three-acre site between Kids Space and the championship soccer fields.
The Digital Inclusion Fund supports digital inclusion efforts in the City of Huntsville. With seed funding provided by Google Fiber, the fund grants programs supporting high-impact programs that will make internet access and digital education available to those currently without access to those resources.Each year the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville awards high-impact grants to nonprofit organizations in greater Huntsville to support and enhance digital access for underserved residents.
The Pathway to Sustainability Fund was established to support nonprofits as they build capacity through collaborative case management to move people from crisis to self-sufficiency. In 2018 the ELM Foundation received a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s Women’s Philanthropy Society for its Community Connections program. This program brought Charity Tracker, an online case management tool used by over 1500 cities, to the Huntsville area with the goal of moving people from dependency to independence through collaboration among local nonprofits.
